Well, as the song goes, "you don't always get what you want... but if you try sometimes, you just might find . . . you get what you need." And rightly so.

No, we aren't making the big move that we were hoping to make, but we are making a much needed smaller move in the meantime. We are getting out of the busy city, away from the constant horn honking and the endless construction projects that seem to take place all around our apartment. We are moving to a beautiful sounding little residential area outside of the city called "Terramelar". Isn't that pretty??
These are some pictures I've taken. I haven't got any of the bedrooms, or any outside pics, but I will soon. I'll also get some with the furniture as soon as we get moved in. We are hiring a moving company to move all our appliances and furniture on Monday so we won't have to haul everything down four flights of stairs.

We are moving away from the seventy-five steps that lead to our current fourth story apartment to the three teeny tiny porch steps that lead to our new three story house - a house with hardwood floors, a good-sized balcony upstairs and a charming little terrace out back that catches the morning and early afternoon sun and that opens up to a little community grassy area complete with pool!! Oh my oh my oh my! I can hardly contain my excitement. (For those of you worrywarts, relax. We are baby-proofing to the MAX)

I'm just stoked to be able to have an outdoor area that I don't have to share with the rest of the human race. I can't wait for sitting outside and drinking a glass of wine on a hot Valencia summer night... oh and bbqs! and making our own paella! And letting Bella play outside and start getting used to nature (it kind of freaks her out a bit). This Vashon girl couldn't bear it if her daughter grew up afraid of dirt and bugs and all the rest of nature's goodies.

So, Mr. Jagger, I'll have to agree with your affirmation. This time we may not have got EXACTLY what we wanted, but I'd have to say that I'm happy to make do with what we got. Plus, now all of you can come visit us!! I'll keep an extra bottle of wine on hand and a bag of charcoal JUST IN CASE! ;-)

Holy Cow!! Your home looks beautiful. I don't know when and I don't know how... but I would soooo love to come see it for myself sometime.
Congratulations Sassy-Bum (and fam)! I am sure some GREAT times are to be had in your new home.
Weird... my word verification is "patio" - is the blogger somehow connecting their passwords to our blog content now? I saw that yours to Tammy was "belly"... interesting.
Wow! The pictures look great- I love hardwood floors, and it will be so nice for Bella to have a chance to enjoy the outdoors a little more. By the way, she is looking so much older in these latest pics- she's such a cutie pie.
Nice, what a cute place... I would love to see it too - someday- but would rather hope that by the time I got around to visiting with 2 kiddos now that you will be headed back this way :) so glad you don't have to move everything - that would be a super pain!!!!
AWESOME! I'm so pumped for you guys, it looks great! I think H and I should take off and have a little playdate with Bella in spain! ;) I love that she can get some Vashonish dirt fun there!
yeah, i was just thinking the same thing- maybe if flights stay cheaper and i win the lottery, hailey and i could pack up the baby girls and come visit... before they are 2 of course because that way they can ride for free.... hmmm
Nice place! It looks amazing. Mom was saying we are taking a family trip over there in 2011! It seems so far away but Tyler and I are completely stoked. Congratulations on your move. Rory was right, she is looking much older. She'll be one in a week...Crazy! Love you:)
YAY! I HOPE you all can come! We have a spare bedroom and a pull out couch in the office.
Good luck on the lottery, Merry! ;-) It's really easy to find deals on tickets these days, though... keep a look out.
Wow, that looks so lovely. The minute Luis gets a job and stops keeping me on a tight financial leash (someone's gotta do it!), we're getting finding some cheap flights to come and visit! And we'll be expecting some proper Valencian paella. ;)
PS Bella just gets more and more gorgeous! And Alex and you are looking lovely too, of course. :D
Sarah, maybe we can trade places for awhile? Your sunny patio, terracotta tiles, and cute yard/pool look pretty darn perfect to me! A lot better than my squishy yard with flowers that can't bloom yet because spring refuses to exist. Yes, I'm crabby!
You all look adorable! Mucho CONGRATS!
Your house looks absolutely charming and yes, this worry wart is a little concerned about the pool (sorry) even though we lived right on the water when our kids were babies/toddlers. I think this move will be really good for your little family. Enjoy!!! xoxox
Cute little Bella, a little freaked out by nature. She's like our two new cats who have never been outside and accidentally got stuck outside the other night.
Wow, Sis. What a great house! The pictures are excellent and Arabella is so dang cute. I especially like the picture of the two of you in the gate of the courtyard. It's nice to know that somewhere in the world the sun is shining. (By the way, this is really your father using Joyce's account)
Congratulations and how exiting! Your new home looks and sounds beautiful! When we lived in Germany, we had a fourth floor apartment also, so I feel your relief at leaving that behind, although it was great workout, especially when hauling up groceries (or a 1-year old!) Much happiness to your new home!
